More aggregation-related data with less time and material

FIDA empowers  protein aggregation scientists to effortlessly detect monomers, small oligomers, and aggregates in a single measurement & under physiologically relevant conditions. This streamlined approach helps you accelerate your studies in protein aggregation and phase separation, allowing you to uncover new insights faster and with greater precision.

Unlike traditional techniques such as DLS, THT, and Cryo-EM, which require multiple assays, extensive optimisation, sample manipulation & significant sample volumes, FIDA technology can analyze aggregates, monomers and oligomers in a single, physiologically relevant assay. By providing precise quantification with just nanoliters of sample material and minimal experimental complexity, FIDA empowers researchers in neurodegenerative disease studies to accelerate discoveries and gain deeper insights into protein aggregation dynamics.

Quantitative and Qualitative Aggregation in Complex Samples

With FIDA, users obtain both quantitative and qualitative measurements of protein behavior, including aggregation, directly in complex matrices (e.g. serum/plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, cell lysate or fermentation media). With the ability to operate in any buffer, pH, or ionic strength, FIDA users do not need to purify their samples, accessing real-time measurements under native conditions. Such flexibility makes FIDA ideal for both translational research and protein production.

Enhancing Quality Control  Capacities
Studying Disease-Related Aggregation in environmentally relevant conditions

FIDA offers full flexibility to assess aggregation under a variety of environmental conditions, including temperature (5-55 degrees Celcius), buffer composition, detergent levels, and ionic strength. This adaptability allows you to precisely simulate real-world scenarios that your biological product may encounter during manufacturing, storage, and transport. By understanding how these factors influence aggregation, FIDA helps you optimize formulations and ensure the stability of your product in diverse environments. This capability minimizes the risk of product failure due to unforeseen aggregation, ultimately saving time and resources while maintaining the quality and efficacy of your therapeutic or biological samples.

FIDA enables researchers to assess aggregation under varying conditions—such as temperature, buffer composition, detergent levels, and ionic strength—offers significant advantages in disease research. Aggregation processes often occur in complexenvironments, particularly in the study of neurodegenerative diseases or other protein-misfolding disorders. With FIDA, one can mimic these challenging biological conditions more accurately, including working with unpurified samples, to gain a deeper understanding of pathological aggregation. This flexibility allows researchers to explore how environmental factors contribute to disease mechanisms, providing critical insights that can lead to more effective therapeutic strategies and disease models.

Quantify molecular aggregation

The FIDA technology provides a powerful and precise method for detecting and quantifying molecular aggregation in real time. It can count the amount of aggregates in the sample, and also, measure their size, making it also a perfect tool for LLPS or amyloid fibril research.

Precise quantification of aggregates offers a powerful advantage for maintaining product stability and consistency, within biopharmaceuticals and therapeutics. By delivering exact data on aggregate levels, FIDA enables researchers to proactively manage risks, optimize formulations, and ensure that your product remains stable during production, storage, and beyond.

Accurate quantification of aggregates is key to maintaining the stability and quality of biological products. This capability helps reduce the likelihood of costly setbacks, providing you with the control needed to confidently bring stable, high-quality products to market. By understanding the exact levels of aggregation, researchers anticipate potential issues early, fine-tune formulations, and ensure that your products perform consistently, whether in manufacturing or during storage.

This proactive approach not only safeguards product integrity but also helps you avoid costly disruptions, keeping your development timelines on track and your products ready for market.

FIDA’s ability to both quantify the amount and measure the size of protein aggregates offers invaluable insight into the underlying chemistry of diseases.

As of 2024, FIDA is the only technology in the market capable of delivering data on:

  • relative sizing and droplet formation kinetics, as well as aberrant droplet aging characterisation for LLPS researchers
  • Amyloid fibril kinetics & thermodynamics

By providing precise data on aggregate formation and growth, FIDA enables you to explore how protein aggregation evolves in real-time, under varying conditions. This level of detail is critical for identifying key moments in the aggregation process where intervention could have the most significant impact. The ability to accurately quantify the extent of aggregation—combined with the capacity to measure the size distribution—allows you to correlate molecular behavior with disease progression. This deepened understanding can drive the discovery of new therapeutic targets and help refine treatments that specifically address disease-related aggregation, giving you the tools to advance your research more effectively

''FIDA is really great here because it allows you to have it in solution and then expose the oligomers to other components.''
